About the hotel
Designed by Kenzo Tange, the central tower opened in 1993 as the Makuhari Prince Hotel in Chiba's Makuhari New City district, near the Makuhari Messe convention centre and about a seven-minute walk from Kaihin-Makuhari station. After the Seibu group's restructuring, APA Group bought the property and reopened it under its current name in July 2006. West and East wings added in 2014 and 2016 brought the total to about 2,000 rooms, with large public baths, a pool, a chapel and a top-floor restaurant and bar.
