Designed by Antonio Escario of Escario Arquitectos for the Bali hotel group, the tower was begun in 1988 and the hotel opened in May 2002. It stands in La Cala, about 350 m from Poniente beach, beside a lower building that housed the original Hotel Bali. The four-star, 776-room hotel has buffet restaurants, a rooftop Sky Bar, three pools, a spa and a 360-degree viewpoint reached by a panoramic lift, which is also the finish line of an annual stair-climb race.
