About the hotel

Grand Hyatt Shanghai opened in March 1999 in the upper floors of Jin Mao Tower, the Skidmore, Owings & Merrill design led by Adrian Smith whose stepped profile draws on the tiered Chinese pagoda. The hotel's signature is a barrel-vaulted atrium rising through its guest-room floors, lined with ring-shaped corridors. It has about 550 rooms, the Cantonese restaurant Canton and the Cloud 9 bar near the top of the tower. The building, at 88 Century Avenue in Lujiazui, also holds offices and the Skywalk observation deck.
