About the hotel

Built between 1996 and 1998 on Jalan Pahang, close to Jalan Tun Razak, the 800-room hotel was owned by a company controlled by Lim Siew Kim, a daughter of Genting founder Lim Goh Tong. It ceased hotel operations on 28 February 2019, citing losses and ageing plumbing and air-conditioning. In 2021 the building reopened as Rumah Prihatin@Grand Seasons, a government-backed welfare centre run with NGOs that offered low-cost rooms and food aid during the pandemic.
