About the hotel
Completed in 1988 to a design by RTKL Associates, the tower was intended to recall the twin bell towers of Mission Concepción or San Fernando Cathedral. The roughly 1,000-room hotel connects on two levels to the Rivercenter mall, overlooks the Rivercenter lagoon branch of the River Walk and sits across the River Walk from the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. A renovation completed in 2020 added the Texas-modern restaurant Tributary and Cafe Bocadillo; the hotel is owned by Host Hotels & Resorts and managed by Marriott.
