About the hotel

Morris Lapidus designed the Eden Roc for hotelier Harry Mufson, and it was completed in 1955-56 beside the Fontainebleau in Mid-Beach; its 1959 lawsuit over a Fontainebleau addition that blocked its sunlight set a US legal precedent. A $200 million renovation and expansion completed in 2008 restored the original building and added a new Ocean Tower. In 2016 about 200 of its rooms became the separate Nobu Hotel Miami Beach; the Eden Roc keeps three beachfront pools, a spa and restaurants including Ocean Social.
