About the hotel
The tower was added in 2001 beside the original 1974 Méridien Cairo on Roda Island in the Nile and has carried several names: Le Royal Méridien, Royal Nile Tower, Grand Hyatt Cairo from 2003, and Grand Nile Tower after Hyatt cut ties in 2011. A long-planned move to Hilton took effect on 29 November 2024. Owned by Orascom Investment Holding, it has about 715 rooms and was built with a revolving restaurant; the older 1974 wing remains closed.
