About the hotel

Designed by New York firm Warner Burns Toan & Lunde with Egyptian architect Ali Nour el-Din Nassar, the Ramses Hilton opened in 1981 on the Nile Corniche in Cairo's Bulaq district. Its triangular guest-room tower rises from a four-level podium of public spaces arranged around an atrium, and the hotel has about 900 rooms, plus a restaurant and observation level known for views towards the distant pyramids. In 2019 the Arab International Company for Hotels announced a four-year redevelopment programme for the hotel.
