About the hotel

The resort stands on Hollywood's beachfront between the Atlantic and the Intracoastal Waterway, on the site of the original Diplomat, which began in 1958 as Samuel Friedland's Envoy hotel and was demolished in 1998. Its replacement, designed by Nichols Brosch Sandoval & Associates, opened in 2002 as the Westin Diplomat, with twin towers, about 1,000 rooms and a large convention centre. Later a Curio Collection hotel, it now operates as Signia by Hilton Diplomat Beach Resort, with Diplomat Prime steakhouse, Playa Beach Bar & Grill and a lagoon-style pool.
