About the hotel
Designed by John Portman, the hotel opened in 1985 on Peachtree Center Avenue in downtown Atlanta. Its full-height atrium, split by elevator shafts and bridges, was billed as the world's largest when it opened, and the bulging base has earned the tower nicknames such as the "Pregnant Building". The 1,663-room hotel has been renovated several times since 2005, and its atrium has appeared on screen in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Marvel's Loki. Dining includes Sear steakhouse and the Pulse lobby bar.
